EV & Automotive Cable
Thin-wall, oil-resistant and high-temperature compounds plus matched extrusion and stranding lines for EV high-voltage and automotive harness cables.
What this application demands
Electric-vehicle and automotive cables operate in a demanding environment: high continuous temperatures, tight harness packing, exposure to oils and fluids, and strict flame-safety requirements inside enclosed cabins. LSZH supplies thin-wall, oil-resistant and high-temperature cable compounds — and the extrusion, stranding and handling equipment to process them — so you can build EV high-voltage and automotive cables to international standards.
High-temperature endurance
EV and engine-bay cables run hot. Insulation must retain mechanical and electrical performance at 125–150 °C continuous service and survive short-term thermal shock up to 200 °C.
Thin-wall and lightweight
Harness weight and packing density push thin-wall insulation with high elongation, scrape resistance and consistent surface quality at high line speeds.
Oil and fluid resistance
Cables meet oils, fuels and cleaning fluids; insulation and jackets must resist swelling and the loss of tensile strength and elongation.
Flame safety and low smoke
High-voltage EV systems demand flame retardancy (e.g. IEC 60332-1) and low-smoke halogen-free behaviour in passenger and battery compartments.
Compounds for this application
EM6098A-SL targets ISO 6722-1 and QC/T 1037-2016 thin-wall automotive wire; HZD2720-EV adds oil resistance for rolling-stock and oil-exposed cables; HZD8250 TPV provides a flexible, abrasion-resistant over-sheath.

Selection & structure
- Match conductor cross-section (thin-wall grades suit ≤ 6 mm²)
- Confirm temperature class (125 °C / 150 °C) and flame standard
- Specify oil and fluid exposure to choose insulation vs jacket grade
- Pre-heat the copper conductor during irradiation cross-linking to preserve elongation
Why LSZH for this application
- Automotive-grade compounds verified against ISO 6722-1 / QC/T 1037-2016 targets
- Material and machinery matched for thin-wall, high-speed production
- Custom colour and flame level to your specification
- Samples and technical data sheets to support qualification
