Heat Shrink Tubing
Irradiation cross-linked master compounds and extrusion lines for producing 125 °C flame-retardant heat shrink tubing to UL / CSA and UL224.
What this application demands
Heat shrink tubing protects and insulates joints, terminations and components — and it has to recover cleanly, resist flame and hold up over time. LSZH supplies irradiation cross-linked heat shrink master compounds in standard, RoHS-compliant and fully halogen-free grades, with the extrusion and expansion equipment to turn them into UL / CSA and UL224 tubing.
Shrink ratio and recovery
Tubing must expand and recover consistently after irradiation cross-linking, with a uniform wall and a clean surface across the production run.
Flame and environmental performance
Grades target UL224 flame requirements, with halogen-free options for low smoke, low toxicity and no corrosive gas.
Mechanical and thermal endurance
A 125 °C continuous rating with stable tensile strength and elongation keeps tubing reliable on cables and components that run hot.
Clean, controllable extrusion
Consistent melt and wall control at the die determine tube quality and downstream expansion yield.
Compounds for this application
HZD1610 is the standard 125 °C grade; HZD1611 is RoHS-compliant; HZD1600 is fully halogen-free for the lowest smoke and toxicity. All are colourable and supplied with recommended irradiation doses and temperature profiles.

Selection & structure
- Choose standard, RoHS or halogen-free grade by environmental requirement
- Confirm UL / CSA and UL224 targets for the tubing
- Set irradiation dose per grade (e.g. 5–13 Mrad) for shrink and recovery
- Control die temperature for surface quality and wall uniformity
Why LSZH for this application
- Three heat shrink grades from standard to fully halogen-free
- Published processing windows and irradiation doses
- Material and extrusion-line matching for tubing production
- Samples and TDS to support qualification
