Modified plastic cable compounds and auxiliary materials

Low-smoke halogen-free, cross-linked, automotive, TPV and extended polymer compounds — plus the shielding, wrapping and filling materials that complete the cable.

Material capability

Compounds engineered for cable performance and safety

Our core strength is modified polyolefin cable compounds — low-smoke halogen-free, cross-linked and flame-retardant — backed by automotive, TPV and extended polymer ranges and a full set of cable auxiliary materials. Grades are colourable and formulated to RoHS and REACH requirements.

Material 01

LSZH / HFFR Compounds

Our LSZH / HFFR compounds are polyolefin-based, halogen-free and flame-retardant, engineered for cables used in enclosed and high-occupancy environments where smoke density and toxicity matter. The range covers thermoset (irradiation cross-linked) grades rated 105–150 °C and thermoplastic grades for sheathing and oxygen-barrier filling, meeting flammability standards from FT2 and VW-1 up to IEC 60332-3 bundled-cable burning.

  • Irradiation cross-linked LSZH grades 105 °C / 125 °C / 150 °C
  • Thermoplastic LSZH sheathing and oxygen-barrier filling compounds
  • Low smoke density, low toxicity index, no corrosive halogen gas
  • Flammability from FT2 / VW-1 to IEC 60332-3 Category B
  • Colourable to customer-specified shades

XLPE / XLPO Compounds

Cross-linked polyolefin (XLPO) and polyethylene (XLPE) compounds raise the continuous temperature rating and thermal stability of insulation and jackets. LSZH offers irradiation cross-linked low-smoke grades rated 125 °C and 150 °C, with verified mechanical retention after ageing and consistent volume resistivity — suitable for electronic, building, communication and instrument cables that run hot.

  • Irradiation cross-linked 125 °C and 150 °C grades
  • High elongation and strong retention after thermal ageing
  • Stable volume resistivity and dielectric strength
  • RoHS / REACH compliant formulations
  • Processable on standard PVC extrusion lines

Heat Shrink Tube Compounds

Heat shrink tube master compounds are polyolefin-based, irradiation cross-linked and flame-retardant, formulated for tubing that insulates cable joints, terminations, components and bundled conductors. Grades include standard flame-retardant, RoHS-compliant and fully halogen-free variants, all colourable and tuned for clean extrusion and high, consistent shrink behaviour.

  • 125 °C irradiation cross-linked flame-retardant grades
  • Standard, RoHS-compliant and halogen-free options
  • Suitable for UL / CSA and UL224 heat shrink tubing
  • Good mechanical and processing performance, colourable
  • Recommended irradiation dose and temperature profiles provided

Automotive Cable Compounds

Compounds engineered for automotive and electric-vehicle cables, where thin-wall insulation, high-temperature endurance, oil and fluid resistance and abrasion resistance are critical. Grades target 125–150 °C service, EV internal high-voltage feeder cables and oil-resistant rolling-stock applications, addressing ISO 6722-1, QC/T 1037-2016 and single-conductor vertical-flame requirements.

  • 150 °C thin-wall automotive cable compounds
  • Oil-resistant 125 °C EV / rolling-stock grades
  • Targets ISO 6722-1, QC/T 1037-2016, IEC 60332-1
  • Abrasion, scrape and fluid resistance
  • Halogen-free and colourable

TPV / TPE Compounds

Thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) and vulcanizate (TPV) compounds deliver flexibility, compression set recovery, abrasion resistance and weatherability for cable over-sheathing and sealing strips. Grades are halogen-free, RoHS and REACH compliant, easy to process and recycle, and available in multiple colours — a soft-touch, durable alternative to traditional rubber.

  • TPV cable over-sheathing grades, e.g. Shore 75A
  • Excellent compression set recovery and elasticity
  • Smooth, abrasion-resistant surface; multi-colour
  • Halogen-free, RoHS / REACH compliant, recyclable
  • Extrusion processing guidance provided

PVC / TPU / FEP / PFA / PEEK

Beyond our core LSZH and XLPO ranges, LSZH supplies extended polymer categories to cover the full cable build: 80–105 °C PVC for general wiring, TPU for rugged flexible cables, and high-temperature fluoropolymers (FEP, PFA) and engineering plastics (PEEK) for heat- and chemical-resistant specialty cables. Availability and full datasheets for individual grades are confirmed per project.

  • PVC insulation and jacket compounds (80 °C / 105 °C)
  • TPU for abrasion-resistant flexible cables
  • FEP / PFA fluoropolymers for high-temperature cables
  • PEEK for extreme thermal and chemical resistance
  • Grade availability and TDS confirmed per project
